What is an Au Pair?

At Perfect Pair Au Pairs, we define an au pair as a responsible, nurturing, and educated young individual who offers child-focused support to families in their homes. Unlike domestic workers or babysitters, our au pairs are selected for their ability to support child development, education, and emotional well-being, while helping parents balance work and family life.

In the South African context, au pairs are often local individuals—students, graduates, or early childhood professionals—offering part-time or full-time assistance to families with demanding schedules.
